Apple Butter Pancakes
When I worked at The Amish Cupboard, I told my boss that I wanted to create a recipe to help promote apple butter sales, since it’s fall. This is what I came up with.
Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 10 minutes mins
- 1 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp apple pie spice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup apple butter
- 3 Tbsp cooking oil
- toppings pecans, maple syrup, etc.
In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients together.
In a separate bowl, mix the wet ingredients together.
Whisk the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well incorporated.
Pour ¼ cup batter onto a hot, lightly greased skillet and cook 1 – 2 minutes on either side or until pancakes are golden brown.
Top with more of apple butter, pecan pieces, and pure maple syrup. Pair with a glass of cold whole milk.
